Highlights of Spain
Immerse yourself in the splendours of Spain. It is one of the most diverse and visually stunning nations of Europe. It will dazzle you with its architectural feats, rich historic treasures of medieval villages and world-famous Museums. Its vibrant cosmopolitan cities that contrast with sleepy villages lost in time and each with their own culture.
We tour the golden metropolis Madrid, the Spanish capital known for its elegant squares, stately Habsburg architecture, leafy boulevards and superb museums.
We visit Toledo - it’s a must. Known as the city of three cultures, Toledo once flourished as a unique centre where Jews, Muslims and Christians lived in harmony. We explore the city’s splendid medieval centre, including the elaborate cathedral and the old Jewish quarter.
We visit the World heritage sites in Cordoba, a capital under the Romans and the Moors. We explore the highlights of this UNESCO-listed city centre, such as the incredible Cathedral-Mosque, the ancient Roman bridge, and the narrow backstreets lined with whitewashed buildings and historic buildings, again in the old Jewish Quarter.
Seville, the capital of Andalusia and a city flavoured as much by the sounds of flamenco and the smell of orange blossoms as by its 500-year domination by the Moors.
Granada, one of the richest and most populated cities in Europe during Moorish rule and still one of Spain's most breathtaking cities.
And wow! Experience fabulous Barcelona where the artistic treats continue. Barcelona, one of Europe's most dynamic centers of modern design and cutting-edge cuisine. We tour Gaudi’s fantastical structures and visit some of the city’s excellent museums. At your leisure take a guided stroll along Las Ramblas—Barcelona’s most famous boulevard—and explore the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter and La Ribera. Perhaps if time permits, explore the city’s shopping districts, stopping at upscale boutiques along the broad Passeig de Gracia and design shops in the stylish Born and Raval neighborhoods. Also visit the city’s leading food markets, including the Santa Caterina Market and La Boqueria Market. Alternatively, opt to visit nearby Montserrat - a beautiful mountain studded with interesting religious and historical sights.
Along the way there’s the hip Tapa’s and Sangria bars sherry tasting and of course, delectable Paella.
